This package comes with two optional self-guided hiking experiences on the world-class Cape to Cape Track, including maps and track notes. Our glamping hub is located right on the Cape to Cape Track, which traverses pristine wilderness in the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park including epic beaches, towering karri forest, ancient granite, limestone cliffs and coastal heathland packed with incredible flora and fauna. PLUS you’ll get a free copy of “Walking Around In Circles”, by renowned local author and track enthusiast Jane Scott. The book includes information, maps and photos of other great hiking loops based around the Cape to Cape Track to inspire your local exploration, should you wish.
THE NORTH HIKE: Walk straight from your tent to Gnarabup Beach heading north to Surfer's Point, home to Margaret River's most famous surf break. Continue down to the Margaret Rivermouth before looping past historic Wallcliffe House and onto the limestone ridge above Prevelly, with spectacular ocean and estuary views. Distance: approx 6km.
THE SOUTH HIKE: Walk from your tent to the top of the ancient limestone ridge overlooking Prevelly. Keep your eyes peeled for rare seasonal orchids, wildflowers, emus and kangaroos. Follow the Track down the stunning Boodjidup Creek valley and onto white-sand Boodjidup Beach where surfers are often riding tubular swells. Follow the beach back to White Elephant cafe for a well-deserved coffee or Margaret River wine and a swim before wandering back to your tent. Distance: approx 6km.
THE TENTS: We have 8 spacious and deluxe unpowered bell tents with comfortable queen-sized beds, soft rugs, LED lighting and furniture made from local timber. All tents have been placed on limestone pads, helping to balance your alkalinity while you sleep! Tents come in 4m or 5m sizes - the 4m option is perfect for couples, the 5m option can sleep up to four people in two queen beds.
FACILITIES: You'll have full access to the facilities located in the main building at SurfPoint Resort. Guests enjoy the commercial-sized, fully-equipped communal kitchen with fridges and a coffee machine, a living/dining room with fireplace, swimming pool, BBQ area, toilet and hot shower facilities, and charging points for your phone or camera.
NEARBY ATTRACTIONS: We're located a 500m walk from Gnarabup Beach, the perfect spot for a swim or a coffee at the beachfront White Elephant Cafe. The Common, a great pub and bistro, is located next door at Margarets Beach Resort for lunch or dinner. It’s only a 1km walk to the famous Surfer's Point surfing break at Prevelly.
